Kristina previously worked in various long-term care facilities providing personal care and assistance for folks living with dementia, cognitive disorders, and physical limitations. Over the years, she received massage treatments to help manage her body while working in a physically demanding profession. The education and care she received throughout her treatments, paired with her passion for health care piqued her interest in becoming an RMT.
Kristina believes the foundation of health and recovery is body awareness and holds space for this by emphasizing each treatment within a communicative, and consent-based dynamic. She understands that each person’s therapeutic goal is unique and applies a variety of techniques such as Swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, passive stretching, neuromuscular therapy, and joint mobilizations to tailor to her patient’s needs. Some conditions she has a special interest in treating include nerve compression disorders, TMJ dysfunction, chronic pain and fatigue, post-operative scars, headaches/migraines, and a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries.
During her days off, she enjoys her time tending to her growing indoor and outdoor gardens, practicing yoga, trying out new recipes, and exploring the North Shore trails with her two dogs Bonnie and Finnegan.
